Terms & Conditions
Our terms of engagement with clients.
Last updated: September 2025
Our Regulatory Status
ZAM Law Associates is regulated by the Immigration Advice Authority (IAA), registration F200900190. Our principal adviser is Zaheer Hussain. We are authorised to provide immigration advice and services as defined by the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999.
Client Care Letter
Before undertaking substantive work on your matter, we will issue a Client Care Letter which sets out:
- The scope of work agreed
- The fee estimate or fixed fee
- The payment terms
- Key contacts
- Your rights as a client
These terms and conditions supplement the Client Care Letter and together form our agreement with you.
Our Services
We provide regulated immigration advice and assistance. We do not provide legal advice on matters outside immigration, nationality and asylum law. Nothing on our website or in preliminary discussions constitutes legal advice — formal advice is provided only under a signed Client Care Letter.
Fees and Payment
Our fees are set out in the Client Care Letter and our Fee Scale. Unless otherwise agreed:
- Fees are payable in advance or by instalments as agreed
- VAT is not currently charged (ZAM Law Associates is not VAT registered)
- Disbursements (Home Office fees, Tribunal fees, interpreters, etc.) are payable separately
- We reserve the right to pause work if payments are not made in accordance with agreed terms
Client Obligations
You agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information
- Notify us promptly of any changes in your circumstances
- Respond to requests for information within reasonable timescales
- Keep us informed of any contact from the Home Office, Tribunal, or other authority
- Inform us if you wish to instruct another adviser
Confidentiality
We treat all client information as strictly confidential. We will not disclose your information to any third party without your consent, except where required by law or our regulatory obligations.
Our Liability
We will use reasonable skill and care in providing our services. Our liability to you is limited to direct losses caused by our negligence and does not extend to consequential losses. We are not responsible for the outcome of any Home Office or Tribunal decision that is within that authority's discretion. We recommend clients maintain their own copies of all documents submitted.
Termination
Either party may terminate the engagement by written notice. If you terminate, you remain liable for fees for work already completed. If we terminate (for example due to non-payment or non-cooperation), we will give reasonable notice and provide a copy of your file on request.
Complaints
We are committed to delivering a high-quality service. If you are dissatisfied, please refer to our Complaints Procedure. Complaints may ultimately be referred to the IAA.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
